Maureen "Mo" Moriarity, age 67, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at her home in Sun Prairie. She was born in Chicago on February 19, 1951 to Duard and Marie (Caluris) Harrington. She married Edmund Moriarity on July 8, 1988 in Chippewa Falls, WI.
Maureen proudly served her country spending 6 years in the Army Reserves, 84th Division. She worked for Thermal Spray Technologies, TDS, Famous Fixtures, and enjoyed being a columnist for The Sun Prairie Star, writing both the Winnowings and "Mo-Mentary Lapse of Reason" columns.
One of Mo's favorite things was to spend time with her family and friends. She spread her sunshine and bright smile wherever she went, regardless of her circumstances. Her always positive outlook and encouraging words influenced and touched more lives than she could have ever imagined. Her love for her family was so entirely evident to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Ed; 4 children, Amy (Jim) Anderson, Greg (Eva) Allen, Christine (Steve) Zupek, and Coreen Moriarity; grandchildren, Adam, Andrew (Sarah), Abigail (Cory), Bailey, Anna, Claire, Matthew, Liam, Laura and Alexander; and 1 sister Karen Steele.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Leonard "Buddy" Allen; a sister Cheryl Lambropoulos; and grandson Aaron Allen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Prairie Creek Refuge Church, 6484 N. Bird St. in Sun Prairie. Pastor Rex Wegner will preside. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Service at the church on Saturday.
